AeroSend is a local peer-to-peer (P2P) file transfer application built with a privacy-first architecture. This Privacy Policy explains how your information is handled when you use our mobile and desktop applications. Our core commitment is simple: **AeroSend does not collect, store, sell, or upload your personal data, files, or telemetry to any external servers.** All file transfers occur directly between your devices over your local network. --- ## 1. Information We Do NOT Collect * **No User Accounts**: You do not need to register, create an account, or provide personal credentials (such as your name, email address, or phone number) to use AeroSend. * **No Cloud File Storage**: Your files are never uploaded to any remote server or third-party cloud. File transfers occur entirely within your local area network (LAN) or direct peer-to-peer Wi-Fi connection. * **No Analytics or Tracking**: We do not use third-party tracking, advertising SDKs, or user behavior tracking tools. * **No Financial Data**: AeroSend does not collect credit card, banking, or payment data. --- ## 2. Device Permissions and How They Are Used To facilitate direct peer-to-peer file transfer and device pairing, AeroSend requests certain permissions on your device. These permissions are used exclusively for on-device functionality: ### A. Camera Permission (`android.permission.CAMERA`) * **Purpose**: Used solely to scan QR codes displayed on receiver devices for quick cryptographic pairing. * **Scope**: Video stream is processed in real time entirely on your device and is never recorded, saved, or transmitted to any server. ### B. Storage and Media Permissions (`READ_MEDIA_IMAGES`, `READ_MEDIA_VIDEO`, `READ_MEDIA_AUDIO`, `READ_EXTERNAL_STORAGE`, `WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE`) * **Purpose**: Required to allow you to select files, documents, and media to transmit, and to save received files into your device’s `Downloads/AeroSend` directory. * **Scope**: AeroSend only accesses the specific files you explicitly select to send or receive. We do not index or inspect any other files on your device. ### C. Local Network & Wi-Fi Permissions (`ACCESS_WIFI_STATE`, `CHANGE_WIFI_STATE`, `CHANGE_WIFI_MULTICAST_STATE`, `INTERNET`) * **Purpose**: Required to discover nearby devices over your local Wi-Fi network using standard local protocols (HTTP/UDP multicast) and establish direct socket connections between sender and receiver. * **Scope**: Network activity is strictly local to your LAN. ### D. Nearby Devices and Location Permissions (`NEARBY_WIFI_DEVICES`, `ACCESS_FINE_LOCATION`) * **Purpose**: On Android 12 and below, Android OS requires location permission to scan for local Wi-Fi networks and manage local hotspots. On Android 13+, `NEARBY_WIFI_DEVICES` is used with the `neverForLocation` flag. * **Scope**: AeroSend **never** accesses, tracks, records, or shares your geographic GPS location. ### E. Notification Permission (`POST_NOTIFICATIONS`) * **Purpose**: Used to display foreground transfer progress (transfer speed, percentage, completion status) so your transfer continues uninterrupted if you switch apps. --- ## 3. Data Transfer and Security * **Local Transmission**: All data packets travel strictly across your local Wi-Fi or portable hotspot network. * **No Intermediary Servers**: Transfers operate on a direct device-to-device socket/HTTP architecture without routing through external intermediary relays. * **PIN & Pairing Verification**: Transfers require an intentional pairing handshake via 6-digit cryptographic PIN or QR code authentication to ensure only authorized devices can exchange files. --- ## 4. Third-Party Services and External Links AeroSend does not integrate third-party advertising networks, analytics providers, or behavioral trackers. The application does not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties under any circumstances. --- ## 5. Children's Privacy (COPPA & GDPR Compliance) AeroSend does not knowingly collect or solicit any personal information from children under the age of 13 (or under 16 in the European Union). Because our application does not collect personal data from any user, it is fully compliant with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). --- ## 6. Data Retention and Deletion * All transfer logs and session history stored in the app are kept **locally on your device**. * You have complete control to view or delete your transfer history at any time from the **History** tab in the app. * Uninstalling the application completely removes all app data and local database records from your device. --- ## 7.
